Emergency Room Wait Times Go Online at Bailey Medical Center

Wait time is defined as the length of time between when a patient arrives in the ER until the patient is assessed by a Bailey Emergency Department employee. Posted wait times apply to patients with relatively minor medical conditions, such as sprains, minor lacerations or fevers. Patients with serious medical emergencies should call 9-1-1 immediately.

 

Wait times represent a four-hour rolling average and are updated every hour. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the average national ER wait time is approximately one hour. Bailey Medical Center continuously strives to beat the national average; in fact, most patients of Bailey’s Emergency Department are seen in 30 minutes or less.

 

“When you are ill or have a minor injury, every minute spent sitting in an Emergency Room can seem like an eternity,” said Rachel Caudill, Bailey Medical Center Emergency Department Manager. “By providing our patients with an expected wait time before they come to the ER, we hope to reduce some of the stress and anxiety often associated with an unexpected trip to the Emergency Room.”

 

Bailey Medical Center’s Emergency Department is staffed by Board Certified and Board Eligible Physicians to provide patients with the best medical care possible. The department includes 12 spacious, private rooms and most are equipped with flat screen televisions to make your stay more relaxing.
